POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Ledger (GL) team has a crucial role within the Financial Accounting team responsibility for delivering month-end financial information that impacts Balance Sheets and P&L. The team plays a critical part in the company`s month-end close process resulting in complete and accurate financial statements. The Senior Accountant/Deputy Team Lead assists and coordinates preparation, approval, and review of journal entries, balance sheets, reconciliations and other relevant accounting issues in compliance with local legislation, US GAAP standards, and the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX).

Key responsibilites:

Operational:

    • Assist in the monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidation process and reporting
    • Preparation and posting of more complex journal entries for company accounts ensuring information 
is accurate and up to date
    • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet GL accounts and Income Statement accounts analysis, research of discrepancies and determination of appropriate course of action
    • Provide financial analysis as needed, reports preparation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing 
information and trends
    • Manage various ad hoc tasks and improvement projects as required
    • Complying internal policies and procedures (SOX, Segregation of duties, etc.)
    • Supporting internal and external audits as requested

Team Management:

    • Cooperating and interacting with internal stakeholders, Industry Vertical and Business Partners
    • Coordination of regular month end closing activities
    • Supervise and coordinate the team in key deliverables, ensuring SLAs are met
    • Team Coaching and performance management
    • Providing strategic inputs within GL management team
    • Drive process improvement and standardization initiatives

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Finance / Accounting / Economics or Business Administration degree is preferred
    • Three or more years of accounting or finance experience
    • Proven experience leading and developing teams
    • Strong Excel skills are desired
    • Systems knowledge of SAP is an advantage
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Excellent Customer Service skills and client – focused attitude
    • Analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to think strategically, balancing long and short-term priorities independently
