Have you ever travelled on a high speed train like the German ICE or the Prague metro, wondering how sometimes your Smartphone has internet connection and sometimes not? How the screens in the train show next stops? Modern trains are full of information technology - IP based networks, modern protocols like video streaming, voice applications and many others. This software is built with modern engineering tools, object oriented, and based on the Linux open source software stack. We are Siemens Train IT team and we are developing a new IT platform for modern trains. Join us and help us create rail vehicles of tomorrow!

Your challenge

·         development based on agile development (SCRUM)

·         design, code, testing (TDD, BDD) train side SW (Java8, osgi, Angular2) and land side SW (Spring, hibernate, microservises) and documenting (in agile manner)

·         We used gradle, git, Jenkins, sonar qube, docker, builds are independent of IDE

·         designing the underlying Software Architecture for your implementation

·         design and development of test cases and integrating the software you have built

Your qualification

·         good knowledge of Java (java8 is an advantage), Spring, JPA (Hibernate/EclipseLink)

·         good knowledge of computer science (design patterns is advantage)

·         experience in Linux environments and Open Source Software (OSS)

·         experience in unit testing, integration testing, … (python Behave is advantage)

·         experience in any java modular system like Osgi/NetBeans RCP/ … (OSGi is an advantage)

·         experience of frontend development (Angular2 is advantage)

·         experience in REST/SOAP

·         experience in source revision control tool (Git is an advantage)

·         basic knowledge of gradle/maven

·         basic knowledge of  UML2

·         Python

·         English is a must, German is nice to have
