Import/ export manager

For the company that deals with the production of plastic packaging, we are looking for a candidate on position Import / Export Manager.

Responsibilities

Main responsibility to secure the entire process from customer order to delivery.

- Lead import / export logistics & sales administration

• Lead import / export business with a focus on outside EU exportation
• Ensure accuracy of all exportation documents (BLs / EUR1 certs etc)
• Ownership of processing orders to delivery
• Tracking of orders post-dispatch for accurate / clean importation
• Troubleshooting issues arising on importation
• Lead sales administration office

- Embed and improve processes & systems for exports / imports

• Revise existing systems and processes
• Enact change for improvements
• Continuous improvement of processes & systems

- Communication with key stakeholders

• Liaise with operations to ensure on-time dispatches of correct stock
• Liaise with commercial team to ensure accurate and on-time information is given to the customer
• Liaise with supply chain for cost saving initiatives
• Supporting group subsidiaries as customers
• Other key stakeholder communication as required

- Procurement support:

• Support Supply Chain Manager with group freight rate card negotiations
• Day-to-day negotiation with freight providers to secure the best rates (considering service, lead time and cost)

Performance indicators:

• OTIF
• Order response time
• Lead time from order to delivery
• Customer satisfaction

Background:

• Experience in shipping goods to all continents – in particular China, Japan and Latin America
• English – Good knowledge oral and written
• Knowledge in other languages is a merit
• MS Office / experience of logistics software
