Dear Au pair,

I am a single mother aged of 39 with a girl of 2 years old. I work as make-up stylist at the shopping centre “El Corte Inglés”, I work for the brand Stée Lauder

My daughter Maria Victoria is very easy-going. She is very kind, she always do whatever I ask her to do, she sleeps well… I am a very lucky mum! However she hardly talk, she is starting to. She eats very well and everything.

She still uses nappies but she is in process of going alone to the bathroom (but I/you have to help her)

Regarding  playing dates, we do not have them. However we go to my sister’s house where there is a swimming pool and you can of course come with us!

Some weekends we go to my village where my parents live: Masueco. There the rest of the family live. If you prefer to stay in Salamanca, you can stay here alone but please do not organize parties or invite people.

In summer is very hot here so we just go to the park, to the swimming pool…

I prefer someone who is more independent, who wants to make her own Friends, her own excursions, trips, activities…

We live in an apartment where there is WiFi. Please do not smoke in the house.

You can eat whenever you want because here in Spain our schedule differ from the rest of Europe.

Perhaps some days I will  ask you to cook very simple things for Maria Victoria.

We are a family with a lot of desire to have the experience of an aupair at home for the cultural enrichment that means for both parties and for the possibility to improve the level of English of all the family and to help the aupair in its improvement of the Spanish and in the knowledge of the culture and customs of our country.

At home there 4 of us. We are a very open family who love meeting new people, travelling, playing sports, playing with family, watch movies together and hang out with friends.

On the weekend we are always with someone to do some activity. Either we go on a trip, or to the beach. We also usually go a lot to a village near Valladolid, about 70 km, where our grandmother lives (Medina del Campo). The village has lots of atmosphere in summer with a very cool swimming pool.

During the week, as we have to work, we are quieter. Fortunately we have a swimming pool in the residential area where we usually go every day.

This is our family:

Oscar, the father. 48 years old. He is an economist and works in an automotive multinational. He likes playing paddle (kind of tennis) and loves to make dinner at night and take care of the garden. He is always playing with the children.

Teresa, the mother. 45 years old. She is a psychologist and works in a multinational food industry as responsible of HR. He likes to play paddle and meet new people.

Paula, the daughter. 11 years old. She is a little bit shy, but very funny. He loves rhythmic gymnastics and has won several medals. She likes reading, going to the swimming pool and especially playing with her Tablet. Oh, and playing the piano, which by the way, she does it very well!

Carlos, the son. 8 years old  (in July 9). He is very sociable and nice. And a passionate about football. He likes all sports and does not get tired from playing. Regarding reading books, it is an effort for hime. And he's a great guitar player.

Who are looking for anyone who is encouraged to come with us, we are sure she will have fun and to find this place as her own home. As we are working during the day, we need the person to come and take care of the children, play with them, order them to collect their things and being with them at the swimming pool in our residential area.

She also has to help with housework as a member of the family, feeding children, cleaning her room and bathroom, making beds and ironing.

We would like the person to come to be sociable, funny, patient and above all to love children and enjoy with them. Paula and Carlos are lovely, although sometimes they have to be obeyed and well behaved.

Regarding  our house, we live in Valladolid, in Parquesol neighbourhood. In a semidetached house, with a beautiful garden and a large attic.

There is a room for the aupair, about 12 square metres, with a desk, a bed of 90, bedside table and wardrobe. The room overlooks the garden and is on the second floor.

The area where we live has many parks and green areas and we are 15 minutes from the city centre by bus.

Concerning the rules at home we like to respect the coexistence and space of each one. As the house is large, there is no problem to be alone if she wants, or rest without being disturbed. If we are at home, we allow her to invite a friend. But if we are not at home, it is not allowed. The use of the telephone is only possible for national calls. We have internet and WIFI throughout the house. She can go out at night till late but only on weekends. On weekdays we want her to arrive home when we are still awake (9-10pm is a good time to come)

And that's all. If you decide to come with us, we are sure it is going to be a wise choice.

FAMILIA ANTÓN

Somos una familia con muchas ganas de tener la experiencia de una aupair en casa por el enriquecimiento cultural que significa para ambas partes y por la posibilidad de mejorar el nivel de inglés de toda la familia y ayudar a la aupair en su mejora del español y en el conocimiento de la cultura y costumbres de nuestro país.

En casa somos 4. Somos una familia muy abierta, que nos encanta conocer gente nueva, viajar, hacer deporte, jugar en familia, ver pelis todos juntos y salir con amigos.

El fin de semana, siempre quedamos con alguien para hacer alguna actividad. O nos vamos de excursión, o a la playa. También solemos ir mucho a un pueblo cercano a Valladolid, a unos 70 km, donde vive una abuela. El pueblo tiene mucho ambiente en verano con una piscina muy chula.

Entre semana, como hay que trabajar, estamos más tranquilitos. Afortunadamente tenemos una piscina en la urbanización de casa, donde solemos ir todos los días.

Esta es nuestra familia:

Oscar, el papá. 48 años. Es economista y trabaja en una multinacional de automoción. Le gusta jugar al padel y le encanta hacer la cena por las noches y cuidar el jardín. Siempre está jugando con los niños.

Teresa, la mamá. 45 años. Es psicóloga y trabaja en una multinacional del sector alimentación como Rble de RRHH. Le gusta jugar al padel y conocer gente nueva.

Paula, la hija. 11 años. Es algo tímida, aunque muy divertida. Le encanta la gimnasia rítmica y ha ganado ya varias medallas. Le gusta leer, ir a la piscina y sobre todo jugar con su Tablet. Ah, y tocar el piano, que por cierto, lo hace muy bien!.

Carlos, el hijo. 8 años (en julio hace 9). Es muy sociable y simpático. Y un apasionado del futbol. Le gustan todos los deportes y no se cansa de jugar. Lo de leer, le cuesta un poquito más. Y es un gran guitarrista.

Quien se anime a venirse con nosotros, seguro que se va a divertir y a encontrar como en su propia casa. Como durante el día estamos trabajando, necesitamos que la persona que venga cuide de los niños, juegue con ellos, les haga recoger sus cosas y les acompañe a la piscina de nuestra casa.

También tiene que ayudar en las tareas de casa, dando de comer a los niños, limpiando su cuarto y su baño, haciendo las camas y planchando.

Nos gustaría que la persona que venga sea sociable, divertida,  paciente y sobre todo que le encanten los niños y disfrute con ellos. Paula y Carlos son encantadores, aunque a veces hay que exigirles que obedezcan y se porten bien.

En cuanto a nuestra casa, vivimos en Valladolid, en Parquesol. En un adosado, con un precioso jardín y una buhardilla grande.

Hay una habitación para la aupair, de unos 12 m2, con mesa de estudio, una cama de 90, mesilla y armario. La habitación da al jardín de la vivienda y está en la 2ª planta.

La zona donde vivimos tiene muchos parques y zonas verdes y estamos a 15 minutos del centro en autobús.

En cuanto a las normas en casa nos gusta respetar la convivencia y el espacio de cada uno. Como la casa es grande, no hay problema para poder estar solo si uno quiere, o descansar sin que le molesten. Si estamos en casa, es posible invitar a algún amigo. Pero si no estamos, no  está permitido. El uso del teléfono solo es posible para llamadas nacionales. Tenemos internet y zona wifi en toda la casa. En cuanto a las salidas nocturnas siempre en fin de semana y no entre semana.

Y esto es todo. Si decides venir con nosotros, seguro que es una elección acertada que vas a disfrutar!

Dear au-pair,  I would like to introduce you our family:  We are a couple with two children; one of them, Pablo is four years old and our daughter Elena is 1 year old. Pablo learns English currently at the school and he will be able to understand you properly and hopefully communicate, I would say. Elena is still too young for it. Pablo enjoys playing football, going to the playground, laughing, swimming..he is a very cheerful and loving boy. Elenita is really sweet..she is starting to walk and speak right now, and she is really lovely.   We are Jorge and Elena. Jorge is 39 and he has his own advertising company; therefore, he works so long from Monday to Friday; I am 36, work in the automotive world, and I tend to work from 8am to 16h.  On the weekend, we usually enjoy the family life. We like to be all together, and sometimes with the family (grandparents, cousins..). We also like to meet friends: sometimes we might them to come for lunch with us, and then we spend the day in the swimming pool all together.  I would like you to join us, mainly to take care of the children while we are working; and we see it a great opportunity so that the children learn English from you.  You should play with them, be creative to make up new games, activities, and try to avoid watching TV too much. You would go to the swimming pool with them, so you have to pay really attention as Pablo is starting swimming right now. You should always speak English with them.  You should make you bed daily, and support with the basic house works.  We would like you to be open-minded, outgoing and responsible. Our children are the most valued thing at home, and we need you to take care of them properly.   In summer timer, we move to a country house in Aldeamayor de San Martín, a village 17km far away from Valladolid. You have public transport to go every day to Valladolid for your Spanish lessons. You will have your own room with a bed, a desk, cupboard, and shelves for your books. The bad room will be shared with the children.  You should keep the family timetable; in case you want to go out at night on Saturdays, take into account that the first bus back home is at 8am.  Should you need more information from our side, let us know.
